Started by those who knew Amanda best, the Amanda Pair Foundation carries forward her legacy by working to overcome cancer with the same spirit of hard work, enthusiasm, and service to others that Amanda lived so well.

Meet the Team

  • A Birmingham native just like Amanda, Allen met his wife at Auburn University. They married each other in 2007 while building their careers–Amanda in Communications and Marketing and Allen in Banking and Mortgage Lending. They had their daughters Ava and Anna in 2011 and 2013 and began getting connected to the Liberty Park community through Liberty Park Pals at The Church at Liberty Park. They soon realized this is where they wanted to raise their family, and they moved to Liberty Park in 2014.

They became very involved and connected in Liberty Park, and Allen played a vital role supporting Amanda as an active volunteer in the PTO and Vestavia School System. Allen continues to display support and devotion to his late wife by starting and leading a foundation that will help others the way she spent her life doing.

Allen continues his financial career and is a dedicated and loving father to their girls. Together, they move forward with hope and faith, and they honor Amanda and continue her legacy by serving and leading the way she would if she were here.

  • Matthew and Amanda grew up together in Trussville, AL. They were the kind of siblings who enjoyed each other as friends, and he was always her protective and supportive big brother.

After graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Matthew and his wife Alison moved to Argo, where he began his career in Industrial Distribution. Now, they and their two young children, Madilyn and Garrison live in Liberty Park. Their decision to make Liberty Park home was profoundly influenced by Matthew’s deep love and admiration for his sister and her family who had established their roots in Liberty Park. Just like when they were growing up, Matthew wanted to be close to his sister and foster a close-knit bond between their families.

Matthew centers his life around family, community, and the Lord Jesus Christ. His faith guides his life, and while they did not grow up in church, his sister Amanda played a significant role in leading him to accept Jesus as his Savior.

Matthew’s love for Amanda and his determination to carry forward her legacy led him to take on a pivotal role as one of the Directors of the Amanda Pair Foundation. Through this foundation, Matthew has found some peace and a passion for community work, echoing the values that Amanda held dear throughout her life.

  • When Michelle moved down the street from Amanda in 2018, they quickly became close friends. Michelle loved Amanda’s wit and their shared sarcasm, and she refers to their relationship as an “everyday kind of friendship,” calling Amanda her “go-to” for everything.

Originally from Dallas, Michelle is married to Zach and together they have three children Riley, Sam, and Jack. Their family packed a lot of memories in with the Pair family during their four years together before Amanda passed.

Michelle’s work as an anesthesiologist and her medical background equipped her to help Allen as part of Amanda’s home healthcare team. The comfort and compatibility they shared as friends flowed right into the season of fighting cancer together.

After the initial shock of losing Amanda, Allen brought up the idea of starting the foundation, and it was an easy yes for Michelle. She works hard to make sure all they do is up to Amanda’s standard of excellence, and she personally has found purpose and comfort in being able to help others and serve the community through the foundation as she honors and remembers her beloved friend.
