No family should have to face cancer alone.
Together, we’re working to overcome cancer through our three-pronged approach: caring for families, funding research, and investing in the next generation.
Our Three-pronged Approach
-
No one should face cancer alone, and we built this foundation to bring practical support and a spirit of community to individuals and families battling this disease.
During Amanda’s illness, support came pouring out from the community in countless ways, and the difference this made is what inspired us to show up for others with this same level of care. We endeavor to meet each family right where they are to help lighten their load through meeting needs in any area– financial, social, emotional, or spiritual.
-
We believe a vital part of overcoming cancer is supporting the research needed to find the cure.
Lung cancer is the third most common form of the disease, but it accounts for more deaths than any other type of cancer. We focus our research funding on lung cancer and ROS-1 cancers, which is the mutation causing Amanda’s illness.
-
We have hope for the future, and we practically support the next generation through the Amanda Pair Memorial Scholarship.
Amanda was an active volunteer and leader at school and the PTO. Investing in students and their education was a core part of who she was. We honor and continue this work by awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior who attended Vestavia Hills Elementary Liberty Park for at least three years and exemplifies the core values of the VHELP Rebels.

AMANDA PAIR
Amanda was known for her creative and brilliant mind, her wit, humor, magnetic energy, intentionality, a touch of stubbornness, and her strong faith and love for the Lord.
Married to Allen and mom to their two daughters, Ava and Anna, Amanda gave her time and many talents to her family and community with enthusiasm.
She was diagnosed with stage IV adenocarcinoma of the lung in fall 2021 with an ROS1 mutation. She had many victories of healing throughout her cancer journey, and ultimately was freed of all pain and disease when the Lord brought her home June 5, 2022.
Her light and her life inspire us every day as we work together to intentionally fight this disease and ensure no one in our community has to face it alone.
